The YWCA of Genesee County is the sole licensed provider of support services to survivors of domestic violence in Genesee County. Using statistics from the past 3 years, we have provided 7,439 non-residential and residential services to 4,640 individuals and families. No one is turned away. Domestic violence case managers provide services that include orders of protection; court accompaniment; family court petitions; explaining rights and options of services available; individual and group support sessions; safety planning; and arranging for permanent housing that provides a safe, secure place to live. We also advocate for clients with other agencies such as DSS, the court system and law enforcement.
