Assist victims of crime to understand the criminal justice process and their rights Accompany victims and witnesses to court and provide support Serve as a liaison between victims, the District Attorney and their Assistants Notify victims and witnesses of the status of the criminal case Assist with victim impact statements (including restitution requests) and parole hearing statements Refer victims to appropriate community resources Assist victims to complete Office of Victim Services (OVS) applications to help with eligible crime related expenses Provide emotional support on the phone and in person Notify victims how to follow up post-sentencing with the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Provide victims with information on the VINE system (Victim Information and Notification everyday)
