The Violence Intervention Program (VIP) is the only culturally-specific non-profit in New York City serving Latina/o/x survivors of domestic and sexual violence. VIP’s mission is to lead Latina/o/x victims of domestic violence to safety, empower them to live free of violence and reach and sustain their full potential. VIP pursues its mission by raising community awareness, engaging in activism and providing culturally relevant services. VIP operates five confidential office locations throughout New York City, and runs a 24/7 bilingual hotline, an emergency shelter, a transitional housing program, 3 DV counseling and advocacy offices in Manhattan, Bronx and Queens as well as 2 citywide specialized programs: Sexual Violence Program and Economic Justice Program.
