Trained volunteer advocates are appointed by Family Court Judges in neglect and abuse cases to advocate for the 'best interests' of the involved children. Our advocates gather information, monitor the court orders and facilitate needed services and advocate for the children in court and in the community. Our goal is that children be able to live in safe, permanent homes. In addition to advocacy services for the children and their families, CASA will also assist with filing of Victim Assistance Application with NYS Office of Victim Services. Our primary focus is on the children assigned to CASA although we may assist others with applications or refer individuals to other victim assistance organizations
