Bellevue Hospital

Bellevue Hospital's Comprehensive Child and Adult Victim Services Program provides trauma-informed services for adults, adolescents, children, non-offending parents/guardians, and secondary survivors who have been affected by violent assault, domestic violence/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, human trafficking, motor vehicle crimes, child physical and sexual abuse, and other forms of child maltreatment. Services are intended to support and empower survivors in making decisions about their options and rights as victims affected by crime, and to provide therapeutic interventions. Services include crisis intervention, assessment, psycho-education, counseling, psychotherapy, support groups, preparation for medical and forensic examinations, child forensic interviews, advocacy and liaison within multiple systems, and referrals for additional resources. The program's staff and volunteer advocates provide services in close collaboration with other multidisciplinary hospital staff in order to help promote healing and recovery.
