Queens Legal Services

The Domestic Violence Law and Advocacy Project at Queens Legal Services utilizes an interdisciplinary staff of attorneys, social workers, and legal assistants to provide holistic services to crime victims in Queens County, with particular focus on victims of intimate partner violence. The attorneys provide legal advocacy and direct representation. The social workers provide core services, including counseling, information and referrals, advocacy, and case management services. QLS social workers and other advocates provide services to victims and potentially impacted family members (including children and elder household members) as needed. Social workers are acutely aware of the myriad of issues crime victims present, and work closely with attorneys and advocates across other areas, including housing, public benefits, disability, consumer, tax, and education, to provide extensive expert advocacy to meet the diverse needs of crime victims.
