The Orange County Crime Victim Assistance Program dedicates itself to addressing the social, emotional and financial needs of crime victims and their families, by helping victims obtain supportive services such as counseling, Court ordered restitution and financial compensation through the NYS Crime Victims Board. Crime Victims are assisted in preparing Crime Victim Impact Statements for the Courts to consider at sentencing and Counselors also accompany victims to Court when requested. Additionally, victims of domestic violence will be assisted in the preparation and filing of Family Offense petitions in Orange County Family Court.
