The Victim Assistance Unit is housed at the Niagara County Sheriff's Office and provides direct services to all crime victims' in Niagara County. Advocates assist in filing OVS compensation claims and work as a liaison between the victim, law enforcement, and the District Attorney's Office. Advocates help navigate the victim or witness through the criminal justice process and provide transportation to court and forensic exams. Advocates are on call 24 hours for crisis interventions.
